Four marine ecosystems and many fun and educational activities punctuate this site dedicated to the marine worlds.

Created in 1990, Océanopolis is one of Brittany's must-see sites. In 2022, some 445,000 people visited this unique site dedicated to the marine world, where aquariums are just one building block. This national center for scientific culture dedicated to the ocean features four marine worlds: the Brittany, Polar and Tropical pavilions, as well as the Otter Trail. Embark on a unique journey to the heart of Europe's oceans. 10,000 animals, 77 aquariums totalling 4 million liters of seawater, divided into pavilions with a large shark aquarium.
Don't miss the otter trail, an area specially designed for these charming marine mammals. Here you can observe sea otters and European otters. This visit, the only one of its kind in France, will delight young and old alike, thanks to a trail that recreates the conditions of the natural environment. Explanations and animations punctuate the visit to this beautiful facility, which is much more than just an aquarium: meet the scientific mediators, feed the species, stroll through the tropical greenhouse, discover the impressive sharks, multicolored coral reefs, as well as seals, otters and penguins. Océanopolis also hosts annual cultural and scientific events, such as the festival Les Art'Pulseurs de l'Océan, the Nuit européenne des Chercheur.e.s and a program of conferences, also accessible on the Océanopolis YouTube channel. Don't miss a privileged behind-the-scenes tour of Océanopolis, with a scientific mediator, or the chance to become a "caretaker for a day". Discover the different areas usually inaccessible to the public and learn how the aquariums work. Océanopolis is an essential facility for marine environment education, and a unique tool for schoolchildren and teachers. Halfway between science and society, Océanopolis develops a wide range of scientific and cultural mediation activities on a national and international scale.

New for 2023, the Océanolab, accompanied by a scientific mediator, is a research laboratory unique in the world, where researchers in residence share their knowledge with visitors.

Allow a full day if you want to enjoy all the areas dedicated to the marine world. For lunch, there are picnic areas and a restaurant where you can enjoy a pleasant break overlooking the harbor. Two boutiques offer a wide selection of gifts.
