WHITE HOUSE PORT
Small emblematic port of Brest, located below the district of Saint-Pierre, ideal for fishermen and walkers.
This small emblematic port of Brest is located below the Saint-Pierre district, on the road to Saint-Anne-du-Portzic, shortly after the arsenal's underwater base. A real village at the beginning of the last century, it was destroyed during the Second World War. Sheet metal and wooden sheds gradually settled down afterwards (there are now nearly 70 of them), making this port a popular place for fishermen and locals coming for a walk. Don't trust his name, the fishermen's huts that line the pebble beach and the boats at anchor form a small and very colourful village! The atmosphere is friendly and you can meet an artist installed to paint or owners who have come to chat by the sea. Feel free to come closer, you will discover picturesque little streets and squares, which have funny names (rue de la Soif or place des Voisins sympas, for example). Each owner is free to decorate his shed in his own way, to give him his identity and to transmit it to whoever he wants, because these little sheet metal wonders cannot be sold! Sharing, solidarity and conviviality are the key words of this postcard village...
