ALBERT-LOUPPE BRIDGE
A remarkable bridge linking the communes of Plougastel-Daoulas and Le Relecq-Kerhuon, hosts street art shows in summer.
Linking the towns of Plougastel-Daoulas and Relecq-Kerhuon, the Albert-Louppe Bridge, formerly called the Plougastel Bridge, was built between 1926 and 1930. At that time, it held the world record for range with its three arches of more than 186 metres, which made it one of the largest bridges in the world. For a few years, it has been reserved for pedestrians, two-wheeled vehicles and slow vehicles. A new bridge, the Iroise bridge was indeed built to resolve too heavy traffic in 1994. On the 888 metres long of the Albert-Louppe Bridge, pedestrians can then enjoy the view of the bay, with their hair in the wind! It should be noted that in September, at the time of "Pique-Niques Kerhorres", the bridge hosts shows of street art for a day and a shared picnic (for more information: www.lefourneau.com).
