SQUARE MATHON
Located in the centre of the city, next to the Place de la Liberté, Mathon Square was created by Jean-Baptiste Mathon, architect of the reconstruction of Brest, then redesigned by Bernard Huet in 1999, during the redevelopment of the Place de la Liberté. You will not be able to miss it, the obelisk of the war memorial being visible from afar. We discover, sheltered from the wind, some remains of the ramparts of the old city and beautiful botanical species. It should be noted, however, that the square is not always well frequented, so it is better to avoid walking around in the evening.
