THE MENHIR OF MEN MARZ
A listed menhir, balanced on the ground, measuring 8.50 metres and with a cross at the top.
It is a vestige of the Neolithic period, measuring 8.50 m, and is one of the four highest menhirs in France and is classified as a historic monument. Like most of the menhirs, it was Christianized and a cross can be seen at its top. Erected between 4500 and -500 B.C., it is balanced on the ground, instead of having its base sunk into the ground like most other megaliths. Hence its name Men Marz, which means Stone of the Miracle. And for a miracle, it is one, and it will amaze you.
