Of Romanesque origin, the church of Plouguer has been classified as a Historical Monument since 1914. The inner western part of the nave has beautiful overridden arcades dating from the 11th century. Several times rebuilt thereafter, it was also equipped with a bell-tower-door, like Saint-Trémeur, in the first half of the 16th century. Its transition decor, inspired by the Guingamp style, is a mixture of flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance influence. The southern porch, with a flamboyant style, has a very special horseshoe-shaped arcade that probably dates back to the 18th century. The Romanesque nave, when it comes to it, is extended by Gothic spans in the 16th century. The sacristy was rebuilt in 1514 and the apse was revamped with three sections in 1746.
