27 km long, this aqueduct is considered one of the greatest of Gaulle. However, as the crow flies, the distance between the city and the channelling was only 12 km! But there were so many obstacles during the construction of the aqueduct which had to be bypassed ... The purpose of this work was to bring enough water to Carhaix so as to feed the thermal bath and basins adorning the great monuments, but also the public fountains and wells. It also ensured the safety of the water by a sewerage system which she cleaned up. Protected by a cement safe, the vestige has kept its original state. Before the mid-fourth century, the aqueduct was abandoned and it was only at the beginning of the 20th century that water could returns to Carhaix!
