NOTRE DAME CHAPEL

The construction of the Notre-Dame chapel was built on the remains of a Romanesque church and has been spread over the centuries since the beginning of the 12th century. The triumphal arch dates from the 15th century, while the domed bell tower and lanterns were rebuilt in 1753. This chapel will evolve over five centuries, according to the architectural styles of each period, but it manages to preserve an overall unity. The interior of the chapel has also been restored, it is a wonderful witness of the past since the beginning of the 14th century and also evolves with the restorations, you can discover various original elements, as well as the tomb of Jothane de Trésiguidy member of a very old and noble Breton family. Outside, we can observe the Calvary which reveals a curious representation of the Last Judgment, through 3 small naked characters gushing out of the earth. But the charm of the place lies above all in the panoramic view from the back: another side of the hill, much quieter than the one overlooking the centre.
