THE WAY OF THE SARDINE
Go there and contact
Heritage interpretation tour to discover the city and its history of sardines.
In Douarnenez, the walk starts at the Plomarc'h lookout, which overlooks the bay and the port, and lasts about two hours. This heritage interpretation circuit takes the walker from the port of Rosmeur, with its alleys and colourful facades, to the Port-Rhu and the seafront, with a view of Tristan Island. You will discover the town and its history of the sardine industry. The path is lined with 17 explanatory panels illustrated with old photos of the city of the Penn sardin(sardine head, in Breton), nickname given to the fishermen of Douarnenez.
