Beg-Meil has a long-standing reputation as a seaside resort. There are numerous hiking trails. Departure for the Glenan.

In 1895, Marcel Proust stayed there for two months. He disembarked from a small steamer coming from Concarneau. After the 1914-1918 war, it took almost three days to go from Paris to Beg-Meil, a real epic! In 1925, the journey by car reduced it to 2 hours. Today, this resort keeps some vestiges of this period with a certain charm, while its beautiful sandy beaches and creeks attract thousands of visitors each season. The bay, known as "La Forêt" or "Concarneau", offers an enormous potential of nautical activities.
