The Penfoulic ponds, initiated by Mr Poulpiquet, constitute a large ecological site where aquaculture activity, an original activity following 3 decades of shellfish farming, is gradually being reintroduced after years of abandonment. The place is ideal for nature lovers who like to come for a walk, but also for ornithologists who come to observe birds. Do not hesitate to visit the Maison des Marais, which is a building restored on the initiative of the Conservatoire du littoral. It is currently a centre for animation (with an exhibition) and information on subjects related to nature and ecology. The House is open to the public during the summer season.
