THE LORD'S PRISON

Square-shaped building built in the seventeenth century, a fortress pavilion that housed from 1875 to 1965 the town hall of Guerlesquin.
This square-shaped building, flanked at each of its corners by a watchtower, is an old prison. The dungeons occupied the first floor, while the upper floors were used as housing for the guards. Built in the 17th century, this fortress pavilion then changed function and housed from 1875 to 1965 the town hall of Guerlesquin. Before going inside, we notice a curious stone block with two cavities. It is an old grain measure. Its measurement by the steward during the taking of the tithe was sometimes arbitrary.
