SARAH DIGEON
Facing the sea, the spot where Sarah Digeon's artist's studio nestles is breathtaking. Coming from England and the fashion world (she is one of the designers who worked for the queen's underwear), she has chosen Brittany as a place to live and work for the past ten years. Fascinated by materials with a lived experience, with colours and textures faded by the sun, softened by the passage of hands, it was the encounter with a book cover at the bend of a flea market that caused a click. After collecting several dozen of them, most of them having survived a century of assiduous reading, she carefully cuts them out, letting herself be guided by her intuition. Like an abstract puzzle, colours and shapes naturally come together under his hands, to finally form a unique, lively, abstract, geometric composition. Some works tell a simple story of the relationship between colour, shape and texture, while others plunge us into a three-dimensional illusion, where the shapes twist and bend in the space of the painting.
