The Fonds Hélène et Edouard Leclerc pour la Culture (FHEL) was created in 2011 by members of the Leclerc family, one of the leading retail chains, born in Landerneau. The Capuchin site, which in 1636 hosted the first stone of a convent of the same name, underwent many transformations and had various uses, before part of the remaining buildings were restored to accommodate the exhibitions. In particular, local Logonna stone was used as the main material.
FHEL's exhibitions, resolutely oriented towards contemporary art, often create the event, with the arrival of collections that are sometimes never exhibited in France. The works of Dubuffet, Joan Miro and Alberto Giacometti, to name but a few, have already made the journey to Landerneau.
