SAVEL
The Poultry and Rabbit Slaughter Company (Savel) is the European leader in the small poultry sector. The company is present at all levels of the manufacturing chain, from poultry breeding to cutting. As a product in Brittany, its pintades are also certified Origin France Guaranteed.
History. The family business was born in Lannilis in 1968; it was created by Gabriel and Madeleine Léon. As early as 1972, she became the specialist in Warren. In 1981, it was the turn of the white coquelet. In 1989, she started the breeding of the guinea fowl on his site of Landerneau (Finistère), and then launched the certified pintela with outdoors in 2003 at Séguinière (Maine-et-Loire). In 1996, Savel launched a 100% plant range, and in 2012 it was the yellow chicken on the industrial sites of Lannilis and Carhaix (Finistère). To date, the company has four brands: P 'Tit Duc, Agalia, Picalou and Jardin de Loire, as well as three production sites.
The products. Savel produces whole poultry (whooping white, yellow coquelet, yellow chicken, guinea fowl, outdoor guinea fowl, guinea fowl chapel and quail), poultry cuts (supreme of guinea fowl, half-coquelet, yellow chicken thigh…), but also produced products (whooping rod), supreme of stuffed, stuffed, stuffed…). Part of its range is also dedicated to halal poultry.
Employment. Savel has over 320 employees on an industrial surface of 15,000 m ², and a farmed area of 250,000 m ². It makes 46% of its turnover - EUR 88 million - for export.
