This mansion is a fine example of the so-called "lantern house". The name derives from the architectural principle emblematic of Morlaix residences, all of which share common features, including the famous lantern, a covered inner courtyard providing a pleasant light well, housing an imposing fireplace and a magnificent carved wooden staircase leading to the upper floors. Built around 1530, the Maison dite de la duchesse Anne (Duchess Anne's House) bears witness to the prosperity of Morlaix at the time, and will delight heritage and history enthusiasts.

Opening time and information on HOUSE CALLED DUCHESS ANNE'S HOUSE

From September 19th to November 4th from 2pm to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday. From April 11th to May 27th from 2pm to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday. From May 29th to September 15th from 11am to 6pm, Monday to Friday from 2pm to 6pm, Saturday and holidays. European Heritage Days, September 16 & 17, from 2 to 5 pm. Adult : 2,50 €. Out of season group visits possible on request.

Celle ci était visitable ce lundi 12 juin contrairement à ce qui est marqué sur le site web (est il à jour ???). Quelle chance on a eu...... De plus,visite à 2,50€ ,moitié prix que l'autre maison à Pondalez ! On a passé un bon moment avec la propriétaire très aimable ,passionnée d'histoire, qui nous a bien renseignés sur les curieuses maisons à lanterne de Morlaix ,on a bénéficié aussi d'infos personnelles sur l'acquisition de sa famille.....On baignait dans l'histoire,on s'y voignait parmi tous ces notables.......
Allez y ! en plus vous aidez un patrimoine privé à vivre .......
