MORLAIX THEATRE
Built in 1886, this is a typical example of Italian-style theater, with a sober facade and sumptuous interior.
Classified as a historic monument in 1998, this theater is a typical example of the Italian-style theaters of the Third Republic. Built in 1886 thanks to a bequest from Count Paul Ange de Guernisac, its sober facade contrasts with its sumptuous interior. Once inside, you discover a semicircular auditorium with two balconies, the first a basket with back boxes, the second incorporating a third level (paradise). The stage housing and machinery, also listed as Historic Monuments, have been faithfully restored. With a seating capacity of 413, the theater offers a program alternating between classical repertory and contemporary shows. It also offers numerous shows, meetings and tours for young audiences.
