The Pointe du Raz is the most westerly point in France, and a walk not to be missed

The only Breton site classified Grand Site de France (the label has been renewed for a period of 6 years in 2019), the Pointe du Raz is the westernmost point of France, and a walk not to be missed. The perimeter of this label extends over five communes: Beuzec Cap Sizun, Goulien, Cléden Cap Sizun, Plogoff and Primelin, covering 8,679 hectares. It is in a dream setting that walks and mountain bike rides are made. With the old lighthouse a short distance away, the Baie des Trépassés below and the Pointe du Van on the other side of the bay, it is not surprising that this place has inspired some of the greatest writers, such as Hugo or Flaubert. The granite spur of the Pointe du Raz can be seen as the end of the world, or the beginning... An idyllic place from where you can see the Ile de Sein if the clarity of the sky allows you to... Particularly visited in summer, it will be necessary to be careful for the lovers of silence and solitude. To note: a very large car park awaits you at the entrance of the point, a car park that overlooks a food court that also offers shops popular with tourists. Here again, many people in good weather, it is not always the ideal place for a discovery of the point in love or in peace and quiet. Clever: drizzle or rain, here is a beautiful climate to discover this wild and authentic place. Finally, a minibus is available from the car park for people who cannot walk to the point.

It is the westernmost point of France! The pointe offers beautiful opportunities for walks and hikes, more or less dangerous. So subject to vertigo, avoid going to climb the rock to surpass the tip, the ocean is 60m low and some passages are narrow. In clear weather, view of the island of Centre.
