Museographic space to discover the history of the fire department from the century to the present day
Do you know why the fire trucks are red? You will discover it by visiting this museographic space, which reveals the history of the fire brigade from the 18th century to the present day. A chrono-thematic visit of the site takes you back three centuries and allows you to appreciate the evolution of fire vehicles and objects used by fire soldiers, the oldest of which (a hand pump) dates back to 1782! This immense and unique space is managed by the Union départementale des sapeurs-pompiers du Finistère (UDSP29), which aims to reveal to the general public the techniques and equipment that have made it possible to rescue people over time. Do not hesitate, young and old will appreciate this museum, with an impressive collection of trucks and small vintage equipment! Note: the Espace du sapeur-pompier offers workshops reserved for 4-10 year olds on Wednesday afternoons. The number of places is limited, remember to book.
