Chapelle de Trémalo with a roof that almost touches the ground, retaining its 3 wooden altars, the main one framed by 2 statues.
The Trémalo chapel was built on the edge of the Bois d'Amour in the 16th century. It was restored in 1973. What makes it so special is its roof, which almost touches the ground! Inside, you'll find polychrome wooden statues. The most prized is that of a 17th-century crucifix, which served as a model for Gauguin, who visited Pont-Aven several times. The Trémalo chapel has also preserved its three wooden altars, the main one framed by two statues, including a 15th-century Virgin and Child.
