Castle known for its legend with the princess, once housed housing and common, it remains a circular tower
Pflixburg Castle was built between 1212 and 1219 by Woelfelin de Haguenau (imperial governor of Frederick II of Hohenstaufen). It once housed a water supply, dwellings and communal areas, but all that remains of it is an imposing circular keep accessible by a forest path. According to legend, a beautiful princess was once transformed by a fairy into a monster, half woman, half dragon. Only the kiss of a knight was supposed to restore her to human form. This White Lady would still appear in the ruins today. So... keep your eyes open!
