URSULINE CONVENT
Built in the seventeenth century, the Ursulines convent was a famous place for young girls from privileged backgrounds. Then in 1907, after the expulsion of the nuns, the establishment began to receive public school girls. From a rather serious angle, located in a beautiful garden, visitors can discover inscriptions carved in the granite and inside, a ceiling decorated with gold leaf, significant of baroque style. It was in 2007 that the Department took over the renovation of the buildings while the City already offered Contemporary Art exhibitions since 1996 in the Ursulines chapel.
