HOLY CROSS CHURCH
Romanesque church with a rich furniture including a tombstone and a Renaissance altarpiece.
Built in the late eleventh century by the Benedictines, the seventeenth century bell tower of this monument collapse on March 21, 1862 and destroyed part of the church. Fortunately, the monk's choir- a summit of Romanesque art - as well as the crypt, one of the finest in Brittany, remained intact. It is an exact replica of the Saint-Sepulcre church of Jerusalem and has been classified as a historical monument. Sainte-Croix, remarkable for the size of its volumes and its cruciform design is the only Breton Romanesque church with a circular plan. It also has rich furnishings with an entombment (around 1500) and a Renaissance altarpiece (1541).
