RUE DOM-MORICE
This small paved way is bordered of marvelous houses with corbellings and half-timberings which testify the timber framing architecture in Quimperlé of the 15th century and the 17th century. Why did they choose to use wood at that time? Because of the abundance of the raw material (wood of the surrounding), and the speed of the construction at economic price. The technique of using timber panelling consist of ingenious assemblage of poles. Aesthetically, the external wood is coloured with various colors, at the base for a better identifying and differentiating of the houses.
