Geological garden to discover the main rocks of the region

Located in the former Joseph-Else mine checkroom, you will be immersed in the world of the miners, the great epic of potash mining in Alsace. Merci à notre guide pour son accueil. Il a su nous faire vivre l'histoire des mineurs et nous a appris beaucoup de choses. Le musée est très intéressant, bien documenté, et vivant, d'autant plus qu'il s'agit de l'histoire très récente de la région.

Un grand merci à Loïc qui a été notre guide pour visiter ce musée qui mérite d’être mis un peu plus en avant sur les découverte des alentour de Mulhouse !

Einfach nur super!!! Wir waren heute mit unseren Kindern dort und sind alle sehr begeistert! Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bekamen sofort einen netten Herrn zur Seite gestellt, der uns in perfektem Deutsch durch das Museum geführt hat. Wir haben schon mehrere Minen und dazugehörige Museen besichtigt, allerdings war das heute mit Abstand das Beste! Warum? Weil die Informationen, die wir bekommen haben weit mehr und wesentlich interessanter waren als alles, was wir bisher erlebt haben! Wir erfuhren natürlich viel über die Mine selbst, ihre Entwicklung im Laufe der verschiedenen Jahre, das geförderte Material und dessen Weiterverarbeitung, die Arbeitsbedingungen, aber eben auch viel über das Leben der Arbeiter, ihr Verhältnis untereinander und das Leben mit ihren Familien außerhalb der Mine. Das alles von einem Mann zu hören, der es persönlich erlebt hat war sehr beeindruckend! Leider wissen wir den Namen des netten Herrn nicht (der Vorname könnte "Gilles" gewesen sein, wenn mich mein Französisch nicht komplett im Stich gelassen hat...), wir möchten uns aber auch hier nochmal ganz herzlich bedanken für die Zeit, die er sich für uns genommen und die vielen Informationen, die er uns vermittelt hat! Vielen Dank auch nochmal von unseren Kindern: wir mussten im Anschluss direkt Haarspray kaufen.... ????????
