For more than half a century, Guy Cotten's name has been sailing the world's seas, treading fields and walking the coastal paths. This wax specialist has been able to innovate and experiment for ever greater comfort, strength and safety for professionals and lovers of the sea, agriculture and leisure. Its products are tested in real conditions by fishermen and the greatest skippers alike.

History. For 50 years, Guy Cotten has been producing his products on the seas and on land. It all began in the days of heavy, uncomfortable and really weak coated cotton oilskins. In Concarneau, as good observers, Guy Cotten and his wife developed more solid clothes: the lightness of the fabric made it possible to double the thickness and even triple the knees. It is the revolution in the ports. The gain in comfort is recognized and the clothes last three times longer. The craftsman turns into a salesman in the evening, on Saturday mornings and prospects from boat to boat in the ports of southern Finistère.

During the years 1965-1970, sailing schools were created and experienced a real explosion. At that time, there were only snap jackets or jackets on the market that could be put on by the head. Guy Cotten then created the Rosbras jacket.

In 1976, he launched the NAV jacket, a lined jacket, which completes the wide range of waxes (30 items). This jacket, with its large stuffed collar, has been shipped by the thousands to all corners of France and Europe. The Skipper vest, a marvel of comfort, has also left its mark.

The HybridPro+ technique is the brand's latest innovation: mastering the assembly of two fabrics known to be "incompatible" is a real technological feat. This is the first time that a breathable fabric and a PVC fabric are assembled with perfect waterproofness!

On 15 June 2019, a new factory was inaugurated a few hundred metres from the historic site. A desire on the part of the managers to increase export sales. Indeed, Guy Cotten, who has been progressing well in African countries for the past five years, is targeting other countries such as Chile, Ecuador and Peru for aquaculture and shellfish farming. The new production area has been designed for the well-being of employees and the improvement of their working conditions. The building has been designed to allow more natural light to enter and has a soundproof coating. The project is also part of a sustainable development approach with 600 m2 of photovoltaic panels installed. The company has invested 5 million euros, thereby reaffirming its commitment to Trégunc.
