BAINS-SUR-OUSTE
Bains-sur-Oust has a long history. First of all, this commune was originally a primitive Gallo-Roman parish that included the territories of Redon, Cournon and Sainte-Marie. Rich in historical monuments, you can discover its three chapels, its cave and its church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste dating from 1862. From a historical point of view, the Saint-Marcellin chapel is known as the intersection of the Roman roads that connect Rieux to Corseul and Rieux to Condate-Rennes respectively. It is also famous as the place where Nominoë and Conwoïon met when they brought Saint Marcellin's body back from Rome to the Abbey of Saint-Sauveur de Redon. The great discovery remains the Ile aux Pies, which is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable natural sites to be discovered. You will also find many activities related to nature. Do not miss the two local markets either. The first one offers multiple quality products two Sundays a month. The second is an organic market and it takes place every Thursday from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. For hiking trails, check with the tourist office of the Redon region or consult their website to enjoy the circuit between marshes and chapels or the Potinais mountain bike circuit.
