GROVE CASTLE
Castle built from 1660 to 1680, preserving its buildings of servitude, its French gardens and its bower.
The present castle, located west of the road to Pléchatel, was built from 1660 to 1680, by Pierre de Lescouet and Anne de Lys his wife, viscount and viscondessa of Du, near the ancient manor house inhabited by their ancestors. It consists of a vast body of hosts surmounted by a large roof with mansard, and flanked by four small pavillons. On the west side, two lower buildings placed in reverse turn end with two rounded bodies called pinnacles. The chapel dates back to the th century. The castle retains beautiful and vast buildings of servitude, French gardens and), probably work by followers of Ours, hence the nickname of Versailles Breton. The castle, the aisles of the Manoir, the Old Mail, the Chapel and the Croix de la Herviaye, surrounded by oak trees, are also interesting. It is said that at the ends of these rabines, wizards were found to dance night round and to oblige passers-by to take part.
