ST. SAMSON'S CATHEDRAL
St Samson's Cathedral in Gothic style, with a double well fed by the same spring and connected by an underground gallery
Built in the monumental Anglo-Norman Gothic style, this cathedral is one of Brittany's jewels. According to local legend, it is linked to Mount Dol by an underground passageway and pays homage to Saint Samson, a churchman born at the end of the5th century. Inside, treasures await you: carved oak stalls, an episcopal throne, a large eastern stained-glass window, the tomb of Thomas James and a wooden sculpture of Christ aux outrages. Unique in France, the church has a double well fed by the same spring and linked by an underground gallery.
