THE LANDRIAIS HOLD
A wooden dry dock built in 1905 for ship repair work and hull copper lining.
This dry dock is anchored in the bay of La Landriais, in Minihic-sur-Rance. It was built in 1905 to carry out repair work on newfoundland ships and the lining of the hulls' copper; this wooden dry dock built by the Lemarchand shipyard is a unique work in Europe. Over the years, it has been abandoned. From 1996 to 2008, the association of the Friends of the Bay of Landriais, was able to give life to this extraordinary site. This work of river and maritime heritage is classified as Maritime Heritage and is a paradise for walkers.
