Le Pertre is a small town located between the Mayenne and Ille-et-Vilaine departments, famous for its racecourse. Les Courses du Pertre has existed since 1905, and this year celebrates its 117th anniversary. Mixed meetings are held throughout the year, with cross-country, steeplechase and harness trotting races. Spectators can bet on the races thanks to the PMU National. The racecourse offers an authentic setting, with its bocage landscape and the town's bell tower as a backdrop. An amusing curiosity is that the racecourse is administratively divided between Mayenne and Ille-et-Vilaine, symbolized by an obstacle known as the Breton talus.
