Mellé has been awarded the title of "Brittany's rural heritage commune", and is strongly committed to sustainable development. Its interpretation center, Melléco, invites visitors to immerse themselves in the interpretation and understanding of its natural and architectural heritage. Open since 2003, Melléco offers films, daytime events, a "Pierres et Nature" circuit, evening events, exhibitions, art and path trails, etc. A grain library has been set up, and vegetables are sold at free prices between July and October. The proceeds are donated to charity.
