THE POLDERS
Les Polders, an area of market gardens in Mont-Dol.
A zone reclaimed from the sea, a vast territory criss-crossed by dykes, canals and paths, the polders are former marshes that were dried out and made suitable for cultivation by desalination, particularly in the 19th century, to grow vegetables and cereals. It is also an area of market gardening. There are signposted cycling routes, Vélo promenades, to cover the polders and the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Allow about two hours for about twenty kilometres, accessible to all levels. From Mont Dol you will also have a beautiful view of the polders.
