LA CROIX DES SEPT LOUPS
The Seven Wolves Cross represents Christ on one side and the Virgin and Child on the other.
Located on the road to Médreac, but in the commune of Quédillac, the Croix des Sept Loups is similar to the other granite cross built in the 16th century, known as the Croix du cimetière. Facing the rising sun, this cross represents Christ on one side and the Virgin and Child on the other. It illustrates a legend about a young seamstress who was attacked by seven wolves. The young seamstress took scissors from her pocket and, using the moon, shot a beam of light to dazzle the ferocious mammals. The miraculous girl's parents then built this cross.
