THE OLD TOWN
Go there and contact
Around the abbey, a whole network of small narrow streets with very poetic names opens up to you for beautiful walks. The old town of Redon has many medieval remains with multiple facades that combine wood, sandstone and tufa. The most beautiful example is undoubtedly the Ursuline convent, a remarkable example of 17th century Breton architecture. With an audioguide or a visit proposed by the tourist office, it is exciting to discover the old Saint-Sauveur abbey and its underground passages: it is one of the most important in Brittany in the Middle Ages. You will also be seduced by the Richelieu tower or the 18th century salt granaries, but don't let that stop you from wandering through this maze of ancient and picturesque alleys, as the houses are particularly beautiful there.
