Authentic address with terrace, offering a short, seasonal menu as well as dishes of broader origins such as tacos
All aboard for South America! In Chile, a huaso is a person who works in the rural countryside. It's not a name chosen at random: here, products come from the market and small local producers. Ívan and Marcela, both of Chilean origin, offer a warm welcome. For the record, Ívan runs a gourmet restaurant in Chile. After fifteen years of going back and forth to Rennes for love, he created Huaso in place of the hair salon... where he had had his hair cut on his first visit to Rennes! He then invited Marcela, who had worked with him in Chile, to join him in the Breton capital. Together, they offer dishes that are most representative of their country: fresh, flavorful ceviches and generously garnished empañadas. The short, seasonal menu also offers dishes of broader origins to which the duo adds a Chilean touch, such as tacos. These dishes, flavored with coriander, parsley or cardamom, are accompanied by wines that Ívan brings in from Chilean producers. Special mention must be made of the small terrace overlooking the Basilica of Saint-Sauveur and the cobblestones of Rue de Montfort. All in all, an authentic address just the way we like it!
