JUPPITER
Restaurant with terrace on the new Place Saint-Germain in Rennes, a really good burger joint.
Tired of not finding the real taste of the American burger in Rennes, Rémi took the plunge and opened Juppiter on the new Place Saint-Germain. Here, we serve smash burgers, where the meat is formed into a ball and then pressed with a spatula right onto the grill. The result is a fine, caramelized steak that's deliciously crispy. From the very first bite, you'll be asking for more, because the taste is truly out of the ordinary. There are only two recipes on the menu (a third comes along from time to time to offer new flavors), but nothing is left to chance, from the homemade ketchup to the particularly moist artisanal potatoe bun, not to mention the pickles and the melting cheddar. The onions are sliced on one burger, diced on the other, and that makes a difference! Burgers and homemade fries are served on attractive ceramic plates and bowls designed by Rennes-based Camille Esmée. The same colors (pink and blue) are found in the refined decor with celestial accents imagined by architect Charline Michel. When the weather's fine, the terrace is the place to be as passers-by stroll up and down the square.
