Cheesy restaurant with a menu featuring seasonal vegetables and an Alix cookie.
On an Antrain street soon to be free of buses, here's a little shop that irresistibly draws us in. In the window, two smiling stuffed animals bearing the effigy of cheeses set the tone: the cuisine here will be cheesy, as this is the shared passion of Alix, a pastry chef, and David, an ex-cheesemonger. Their specialty, grilled-cheese, comes from across the Channel. In their best-seller, the Super Banco, you'll find tasty, responsibly-farmed cheeses (cheddar, Saint-Nectaire, organic Tomme de Bretagne) accented with candied onions between two slices of artisan bread from La Boulangerie du Thabor . The couple receive them in quarter loaves and take care of the preparation. The bread is perfectly toasted, and the cheese is just right... A real treat! The menu also includes recipes featuring seasonal vegetables. All accompanied by homemade iced tea (Tea and Ty) and a cookie from Alix. Banco is also committed to its daily operations, working with Les Coursiers Rennais for delivery, DurabL for bulk products, Rennes du Compost for bio-waste and En Boîte le Plat to reduce packaging.
