Market cuisine by chef Germain Caillet in a Rennes restaurant.
La Petite Ourse has become a popular address in Rennes. And for good reason: its intimate setting is just the sort of bistro you'd want your friends to discover! Chef Germain Caillet is brilliant, and his partner Charlotte, a precious concentrate of good humor. The restaurant's minimalist decor is designed to focus on the essentials. The short menu focuses on organic market produce and small, exceptional wines. That lunchtime, we set our sights on the swordfish tartare, gazpacho and cherry tomatoes with basil, followed by the steamed egg with piperade, sweet garlic and roasted seeds. And last but not least: the blackberry and rhubarb sorbet with granola. We'll be back!
