This stylish night bar is hidden away in an old mansion on the Place du Champ-Jacquet. The setting is truly splendid: you can party or dance under stone vaults that give the basement the air of a medieval cellar. During the summer of 2011, the owner renovated this 14th-century fallout shelter and gave it a more lounge-like feel. Once you've descended the steps leading to the "Contre", you enter a paradise for night owls. And it's all about having fun. Two floors, different atmospheres, different nooks and crannies, but above all, a party atmosphere: this nightclub organizes regular parties, even inviting some of the best-known DJs on the circuit, notably during the Transmusicales festival. There are several counters and a dynamic team. The public is quite young, especially when business schools take over the premises for their parties. You can also privatize one of the many rooms in this underground labyrinth! With its inventive punches and cocktails, La Contrescarpe ensures you won't die of thirst (even if the zinc is packed, especially at weekends), and the team knows how to surprise you and regularly renews the beverages. A must-visit classic. And don't forget to come and enjoy the Contrescarpe evenings, full of fun and surprises, on Valentine's Day, Halloween, New Year's Eve...
