LE PANAMA
It is one of those little urban treasures completely hidden from the view of passers-by, a little lost in the middle of a residential area. And yet a certain number of people from Rennes voluntarily go out of town to spend evenings in Panama! Why is that? Because it's a really atypical place: when you pass in front of it you think it's a vague PMU, the name can be misleading... You can't see much through the window, the mystery remains... And once the door is opened, you find yourself in an old-fashioned bistro in an authentic "guinguette" atmosphere as if this bar had been suspended in time (period tiles, formica bar, vintage posters, pinball machine). But what makes Panama an incredible place is its inner terrace, lurking out of sight like a green bower or granny's backyard. There you will find a table football, exhausted armchairs, garlands of flowers, and a few cats that give you a questioning glance. The place is perfect for "la bonne franquette" evenings and it hosts many of them: rock and jazz evenings, fairs of all kinds, improvised picnics, etc... It's like an escape to the countryside just two metro stops from the centre, and the prices are unbeatable!
