ATELIER SAINTE-ANNE
Annie Robine is a binder artist who followed a book binder training at the Estienne School in Paris. A passionate artist, she offers different formulas to initiate binder techniques and transmit his knowledge. It plays with noble materials such as leather, ordinary objects (shellfish, textiles, metals) and extraordinary to connect your old or contemporary books and allow to finally judge a book according to its cover! If you have a binder project, want to make your own book or republish a valuable compendium, or simply learn the method, it offers you different formats: Internships to the day, over 3 or 5 days, internships to engraving and binding, marbled paper technique… But far from the dusty gospel image of its discipline! Annie Robine wants to anchor the binder in contemporary and for this explores the limits of technique using other horizons, notably Japanese binder, and decompartmentalize the materials used. For this, it uses amazing and luxurious materials: The leather, of course, but also the galucat or frog, the Plexiglas… it also exhibits and sells its work. In short, you will find here a rare know-how here. Moreover, the curators of the Redon cartular did not deceive himself by entrusting him with the restoration of the binder of this book!
