Born in 1895, the CGT-FO appears in 1948 on the initiative of activists. From its origins, union independence is at the heart of its conduct, analysis and role. This independence applies to political parties, governments, state, boss and churches. It is now a union of employees, in order to defend their particular interests. Only the employee is isolated, collectively, the employees can claim, negotiate and act. The Labour Force Departmental Union brings together all FO unions of the department and acts on behalf of the General Confederation of Labour Force Labour. Its mission is to defend, train and inform members, activists and unions, as well as to coordinate and support their actions.
