UNIVERSITÉ RENNES I
The University of Rennes 1 brings together several poles and several places. She is the direct heir to the first university in the region, founded by François II, duke of Brittany. Dissolved in 1793, the secular Imperial University began in Rennes in 1808 and marks the birth of a large university in the west. The university now has over 600 diplomas and offers various training courses: university degrees of technology, health sector diplomas, engineering diplomas, research credentials, degrees of access to university studies. This university brings together about 3 campuses: one on Villejean, one in the center and one on Beaulieu. This university is the most important in the West after that of Nantes, which is indeed multidisciplinary. Located in the city on three different sites, it welcomes students who are supervised by over 1,800 teachers and researchers in very diverse disciplines. The disciplines taught are grouped into areas: Science, Technology, Health (STS), Science, Political Legal, Economic and Management (SJPEG) and Social and Social Sciences (SHS). With nearly 5,000 graduate students, Rennes I University is a remarkable vile of multidisciplinary research. A university that has been able to adapt and offer innovative and varied training. Studies and internships abroad are possible.
