JEUNES À TRAVERS LE MONDE
Jeunes à Travers le Monde is an association under the French law of 1901. It was created in 1990 and has been accredited by the French Youth and Popular Education body (Jeunesse et Education Populaire) to promote the international mobility of young people aged 18 to 30. All projects and situations are studied, and Jeunes à Travers le Monde can provide you with information, support and financial assistance. It's true that perfecting your language skills in a work or school environment is a luxury that not everyone can afford in some of Europe's major cities, where rents are prohibitive. Long before the fashion for foreign experience became a necessity, the Conseil Général d'Ille-et-Vilaine set up this association, which supports and awards grants to students, jobseekers, young graduates and, for some years now, to people experiencing difficulties in finding employment. These grants are reserved for young people between the ages of 18 and 30. These welcome grants enable them to do an internship, discover a trade, or work as an international volunteer in the four corners of the globe. 400 young people leave every year thanks to JTM, for varying lengths of time, ranging from three weeks to six months. If you still have a civic-minded project in mind, or if you're planning to study, discover an au pair experience, try out woofing or even try your hand at solidarity or cultural work, JTM has plenty of resources for you. Our friendly staff, well-versed in international affairs, will meet with you and examine your application, which will be selected on the basis of the coherence of your professional project. It's a good idea to plan your expatriate experience in advance, using the extensive documentation available at the rue Martenot center. We know some young people who have gone abroad thanks to this structure and can only congratulate themselves! All in all, JTM offers scholarships, work experience, European volunteering services, advice and practical tips on how to go abroad, as well as a good reflection of the mobility of young people in the region. Did you know? 30% of French expatriates worldwide are from Brittany.
