The Service Commun de la Documentation de Rennes I brings together on three sites the three poles of activity of the largest university in Rennes. On the central campus, there are the faculties of Law and Economics. On the Villejean campus, there are the Health, Literature and Social Sciences departments. Finally, on the Beaulieu campus, it is the place of Sciences and Philosophy. In other words, their catalogues have a plethora of dimensions. They are aimed at students who are studying or cramming at the last minute. A few figures? In terms of printed collections: 423,000 books, 6,000 periodical titles, 20,000 antiquarian books, 15,000 periodicals and databases that can be consulted in digital format: the loan of the collection is open to student card holders but also to private individuals with 20 documents for 3 weeks. While the Health BU is housed in modern and spacious premises, the Beaulieu campus, which was refurbished in 2007, has a state-of-the-art building and services. The students of the Place Hoche BU are jealous: they still benefit from a central location in a beautiful building and a cloister to study on sunny days. There is also digital equipment and an atmosphere worthy of large old libraries. The students will therefore find everything they need to succeed in their studies (photocopiers, printing machines, etc.). Every year the university libraries propose many events such as large exhibitions on the occasion of the Science Festival, regular presentations of old books, an exhibition mixing books and scientific instruments... Each year, the BU offer you the opportunity to discover a facet of the collections.
