LES HORIZONS
Les Horizons, a landmark in Rennes, was designed by architect Georges Maillols
An emblematic monument in Rennes, Les Horizons is the work of architect Georges Maillols. Composed of two adjoining towers - Horizon 1 and Horizon 2 -, the building is nicknamed "twin towers" or "the ear of corn". When the work was completed in 1970, the Horizons building was the first high-rise building (IGH) for residential use in France. Like all the buildings in the new Bourg-L'Evêque district, Les Horizons met the need at the time to house as many families as possible in a limited space. Classified as a 20th century heritage site, the building is still the tallest in the city with 96 meters for a total of 35 floors.
