It is an associative museum whose aim is to make the medical heritage known and to value obsolete collections and tools from hospitals in the region. In a room located at the moment in the basement of the Hotel-Dieu (this may change in the years to come, taking into account ongoing work) you can immerse yourself in the history of medicine and trace the developments that have accompanied health concerns since the eighteenth century. Some objects are even older. It is immersed in an atmosphere at a crossroads between curiosity cabinet and torture room, because, of course, if you are not in the middle, some tools can create images within the gore. However, this place has a university will to mediate these artifacts and to realize the incredible evolution of medical techniques, such as when you face one of the first radiology machines in history. Distributed according to different poles, pharmacy, anesthesia, radiology, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, we discover a whole universe ignored by the general public and the history of uniforms of nurses and doctors, the oldest syringes and scalpels of time… During 1:30 a. m. to 2:00 a. m., informed explanations are provided by the association's volunteers, former medical professionals, who explain the history of objects with force and anecdotes. Temporary exhibitions are also organized regularly. We have a lot of gratitude for the contemporary and fascinating medical advances. A moment that comes out of our usual paths and allows us an incredible prospect of what we are taking today for technological achievements!
