BESNARD ISLAND
A peninsula with an abundant fauna and cliffs overlooking the entrance to the Havre de Rothéneuf, to be discovered in Saint-Coulonb.
Linked to the tip of Meinga by the tombolo des Chevrets, Besnard Island has gradually become a peninsula with the accumulation of sand. Its high cliffs overhang the entrance of the Havre de Rothéneuf with elegance. Its lands were exploited a few years ago but nature has taken over. From now on, gorse, broom, heather and honeysuckle have repopulated the plateau while the seaweed and the sea fennel are anchored in the cracks exposed to the sea spray. From the customs path that goes around the island, you can discover an abundant fauna.
