MUSÉE D'HISTOIRE MARITIME - MAISON DU PROJET
Scheduled for April 2022, the Saint-Malo Maritime History Museum promises to be grandiose. On five floors, the building that will be erected on the port, in front of the Duguay-Trouin basin, will house a whole collection of objects from maritime archaeological excavations. As such, 2,700 m² will be available for permanent and temporary exhibitions. It is notably planned that the pieces exhibited in the Solidor Tower and in the History Museum of the city will be installed in this new place. The Japanese architect Kengo Kuma is the designer of this new building. Anxious to take nature into account in its realizations, the modern and uncluttered building will be made up of three large rectangular blocks stacked one on top of the other, and will offer a panoramic view of the port and the inner city. For more information, go to the Maison du projet located at the Duguay Trouin wharf, opposite the Compagnie des Pêches, where you will discover the model of the future building and see all the steps involved in the implementation of this project. Until the opening of the Saint-Malo MHM, the city museums and those of the Solidor Tower are closed, except for those presented in our pages!
